- Only entrants from South Africa are eligible.
- Footage can be from anywhere in the world.
- Entries are unlimited but the same video can only be entered once.
- Only video footage is eligible.
- Footage must have been shot over the last 12 months.
- Entries must be the original work of the entrant. Permission must be granted and due credit given if footage or help from another source has been utilised in a submission.
- Music and footage must comply to privacy rules, and be free to air (not protected by copyright).
- If copyrighted music or imagery are used, permission must be granted by the copyright holder.
- Films must be surfing and ocean related and no longer than five minutes.
- Zigzag and Wavescape reserve the right to verify all footage submitted through any means necessary.
- Zigzag and Wavescape may use the entries as content on their websites and social media platforms.
- Any entry that does not comply with the rules or terms and conditions will be instantly disqualified.
- The top 10 films will be screened at the Zag Shorts Awards evening at Jack Black’s Brewery on Friday 11 December 2020 where the three winners will be announced.
- Judging is weighted collectively as one third from Zigzag, one third from Wavescape and one third from Jack Black.
- Prizes will only be delivered within South Africa.
- Relatives or family of anyone at Zigzag, or Wavescape may not enter.
- Judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
