“Filmmaking is so fun. You can create something from nothing. When you go on those surf trips or travels, you collect a bunch of footage and you don’t always end up using a lot of it in edits and clips you make. That’s the cool thing about filmmaking, you can take those unused clips and wack it all into one edit.” The above quote is the voiceover that introduces Discarded, and explains perfectly what the film is about: a mash-up of footage from various surf trips everywhere from J-Bay to as far as Namibia.
